[Sometime later, Kallen returns to the safe-house holding a wiggling bundle of towel with one arm and grabbing on to a medium-sized sack with her free hand.]

I brought some food and extra supplies over, Zero.

[If one looks closely, something black and furry pokes out of the bundle.]

[Goes to retrieve the bag, blinking at the cat within her arms.]

Shinkirou, right? [...to which Zero is given a grumbling sound in turn. Animals don't exactly like the presence of vampires;; It makes Zero a sad boy..]

How are things out there?

[She nods, bringing out her hand to stroke the kitty's head.]

Oh, and some herbs are inside the bag just in case. You'll never know if you need them. Surprisingly, it's not so bad outside.

[...? He appears a bit surprised by this. If he's to be honest, there's only bits and pieces of information that he has learned and heard of, in regards to the stretch of water and what lies beyond the gates.]

I knew someone who attempted to escape and discovered some moats behind the gates. He told me that the sea didn't appear to move, almost as if it's like glass.

[How disconcerting.] Strange. I've heard talk of there being some sort of creature beneath, as well.

Oh, right. He told me he saw large tentacles from the moats. Just the thought that they exist is gross!

[A light shrug. ...Maybe she's never seen octopi or squid? He wonders... Not that he's ever heard of the monstrous ones as truly being real, however.]

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever heard any of the natives or guests actually speak of anything about a water creature.

[She instantly thinks of those ten-foot tall monstrosities seen in bad sci-fi movies.]

He saw it months ago. Other people probably had seen them but chose not to announce them. Just think what would have happened if any household owner caught them doing it.
