[ From within the courtyard of Iki, Ed's reclining with an impressive selection of books stacked around him. Here and there are spare sheets of paper, pens, and a couple notebooks that appear to have several spots marked in each. One of these books (Smaller Chemical Analysis) is settled in his lap

[That impressive stack of books is only about to get larger as Alphonse comes into the courtyard toting another stack of ten. Pieces of papers, notes no doubt, hang at random between the pages.]

Are you still out here, Brother?

[He asks as he attempts to peak over the top of his stack, which he's attempting to carefully balance in between his hands. By the time he gets close enough to notice the cat, he can't see it to well as he stands behind Edward with his arms full.

By the time he sets the stack down, all he can do is huff as he takes up a lean against the topmost scientific journal. The cat is noticed almost instantly now that he isn't so distracted.]

Ah -- a kitten! [Alphonse's eyes light up immediately as he inches up and behind Edward from behind. He bends, hands coming to rest on his knees as he looks down at the small animal.]

[He blinks and swats that hand away.]

Stop it ~ I'm listening!

[Only partially that is. It is of course, totally, Edwards fault that he this distracted in the first place.]

B-baths? You want to go with Sakura? Now?

[ Flicks Al gently on the forehead, chuckling. ]

No, idiot, later. Unless you wanted to go right now, but otherwise I was thinking more for after we're done here.

We're going to have to clean up and find a place for Theo inside. [He blinks realizing something.] You don't think Mr. Nagi will be mad if I bring a cat inside ... do you?

Sure. [ Shrugs a little. ] I don't see why he would. Other people 'round here have pets.

[He nods and lowers his gaze towards Theo as he gives the tiny kitty another good pet. It looks like everything was in order then. If he wasn't going to get in trouble and Ed was really going to let him keep it, then he was really going to actually have a cat for once!]

We can head over to the hot springs when you're ready then.

[Until then he was content to lay here in the soft grass besides Edward, among the books, as he played with Theo. Really, things could not get much better.]

[ Reaching out, he ruffles Al's hair before scooping up a few of his books and notes, preparing to take them up to their room. ]

You tell me. What would you like to do first?

Well, the books will have to go away first... Theo needs to taken inside...

[He's talking to himself now, cleaning up is not something really he would like to do but it was necessary if they were leaving.]

Have you eaten yet, Brother?

[A potentially dangerous question, but now that Al thought about it was he was a bit hungry.]

[ Already seeing where Al's going with this, he continues to pick up the scattered supplies, filling his arms with more books and notes. Has he eaten? Of course he has, but that won't stop him from wanting more food. So he grins a bit more.

It's... nice, having Al around again. He can't stop himself from smiling. ]

Nope! [ A lie, but a harmless one. ] What're you in the mood for? I'll pay.

Ah ... a sandwich would be fine, maybe some pie and ice cream after.

[Pie. The thought made his mouth water. He sighs shortly after though, if he ever got back home he as going to pig out on Winry's apple pie for months again.]

B-but really ... I could go for anything!

[transmutates]

[ Snorting at the requests (pie, yep, that's Al), he finishes gathering the things he can before nodding. ]

Sounds good to me, Al.

[When Ed agrees he eyes the stack of books and then the tiny kitty. Ultimately he guides the kitten to his shoulder and then lifts the stack, it takes a good minute and some wincing for Theo to get stable footing and then it's off to his room to put the books and the tiny animal away.

He'll have to remember to sneak a bit of food back for Theo to have later and then sometime before the day is over look into picking up some proper food. It does not take Alphonse long to get upstairs to his room. He makes sure the single window is his room is shut, before setting Theo down on the futon. The door shut behind him he nods to Ed that he's ready to go.]

[ With everything put away, Ed jerks his head in the direction of Iki's exit, waiting for his brother to catch up a few steps before throwing an arm around his shoulder. ]

We'll go to Chateau Loire. They've got food like what we're used to. Plus, it's on the way to the baths.

Sounds good... we don't need to bring anything else with us. To the baths ... I mean?

[His pace slows under the weight of Ed's arm and just in case they have to go back for anything.]

Nah, they have all that stuff there.

[ Ruffles Al's hair before releasing him and heading down the stairs. ]

[Lunch ends up consisting of a double stacked club sandwich, baked chips, and a large glass of milk. It was polished off far too quickly and he ended up sharing some of Edward's as well, before he ordered dessert.

Unlike the first time they ate out together, he had a small allowance to put towards paying the bill. Bellies full of food, Alphonse follows Edward's lead through the district and on to the baths. The way quietly being memorized as they walk for future reference.]
