[Konoe looks a bit sleep-deprived and in need of haircut, but otherwise everything seems to be in order. He's set up his fans to sit on a table, and as it's turned on he backs away with his hand on his hip and a satisfied nod, before coming back to crouch in front of the camera.]
Long time no see? I apologize if anyone's been looking for me, I've

[Have a genuinely concerned look. Seems like it's fairly easy to get into trouble in this place. Kiyoha even got ... he shakes his head as his thoughts wander and he does his best to get back on track.]
Sorry to hear about your friends... maybe they were able to finally go home?
[His smiles returns, going back home, wouldn't that be nice? His expression changes of course as Konoe brings the tiny thing with tentacles into view.]
What is that thing!?
[He's not sure if he should be surprised or intrigued. He's just never seen anything like it so he's not too sure what to think.]

And that's... I'm not sure either! It looks like an octopus, but I know it's something different, since I've... met an older relative.... [Apparently that encounter is an embarrassing memory to speak of, and there's a certain pink to his face.] And I didn't notice it was with me until it was too late to put it back.

[The part of him that is eager to help others, eternally disappointed. He does his best to force a smile, and it comes easily when hears the thank you. Of course, such conversation is easy to look aside when the strange creature it brought up again.]
Does it even have a mouth or a beak? It seems to just be all tentacles... older? There are more!? Are they really hard to keep track of? It seems like something that might be easily noticeable if it follows you home ... nothing like a cat or a dog.

But... actually I haven't tried to look at it that closely. It's only just gotten big enough for me to try. It started out very small, and clung to my back all the way home... by then I put it in a cup of water, and the more I fed it, it grew. The others I saw were enormous, I'm not sure what I'll do if it'll really grow so big.... [He stands to retrieve his Fans again so that he can bring the camera closer to the basin.] Would you like to see it?

[When Konoe mentions the others he saw were enormous, he just kind of blanches.]
Big? Like bigger than a person big? How does it even grow that big...
[He asks himself as Konoe's fans is moved, and he nods as he mutters more random thoughts to himself.]
Maybe before it gets too big, it might just be best to put it back where the others are?
[At least it sounds like a safe and good idea to him.]
Who knows what they are capable of. Probably harder to care for than a cat.
[And speaking of cats, there's a small calico kitten in his lap now, ears and small just poking into view as it attempts to crawl up his shirt to it's normal perch on his shoulder.]

They were big enough to... well. Lift someone. I'm not sure how I'd manage to put it back where it came from since the wall's been fixed, but maybe by then I'll have made a plan....
[He surprises himself, wondering if he'd want to release it... though he knows it won't fit in his room eventually. He skims the surface of the water with his free arm, smiling a bit at the thing's interest in it. His eyes drift back to the screen in time to see Alphonse's kitten mid-ascent, and his own tail curls upward in curiosity.]
... I see you have a friend of your own! [It gets a look of utmost fondness out of him as he admires its efforts.] Won't you introduce me?

[Lifting someone sounds like the creature could be fairly dangerous, but only time would tell. Looking down at the small kitten on his shirt, he takes a moment to help it up and onto his shoulder.]
Brother found him outside Iki not too long ago, we named him Theophrastus, but we mostly call him Theo for short.

[And there was plenty of room.... He nods at that, continuing to eye the tiny feline. He repeats its name, but in such a manner that it's likely incomprehensible as a word to human ears, and listens to whatever response he gets.]
... I'm glad to see Theo taken care of by someone like you two. He's happy.

[Al smiles all too knowingly, many a morning he wakes to find Theo and Ed all curled up together.]
The moat? Ah - when the wall broke! You went outside?
[With his curiosity sparked, his face lights up. Theo is shifted slightly in his lap as he reaches for a pencil and a journal. Shuffling of paper is heard as he prepares to write.]
So what did you see out there? Could you see anything in the distance?

[Another frown as his thoughts catch up with the conversation, his scribbling stops as he pauses.]
You're ok though... they didn't do anything to hurt you?

That's a relief.
[And noting the lull in Konoe's descriptions, Alphonse takes the cue to change the subject.]
He Konoe... you work at the pet store don't you?

The pet store? I haven't been there before... [In part because the thought of cages is not a pleasant one....] I don't work under my household, actually.
