[His blush manages to deepen even further but he nods sheepishly.]

[Another glance gives him a view of the blush. He stutters over a word, stops, and slowly tries again.]

[He grimaces in an effort to contain it, though his self-consciousness grows more pronounced as he catches Kanji look at him. Really, to be worked up over this during a simple conversation... But he blames most of the nerves on Kanji- simply for projecting his and provoking his own. He clears his throat again]

[It's a welcome distraction, and he focuses on it] ..Some of us are from different time periods. My father is the most surprising example, coming from a time 13 years ago.. But even a few of those that come from more recent times haven't experienced the future I have yet, and I'm hoping she's among them.

I suppose it depends on perception. On one hand, we're allied with the four other Great Nations- something that hasn't been seen in history as I'm aware of it. On the other, it's an alliance born of necessity to fight the war our lands are plagued with.
