[the post starts in the middle of the poster’s sentence. the voice is fairly androgynous and more importantly, panicked.]

Where is my house!? I walked in through my front door, so I should be at the genkan*. Instead I’m in…I’m…where am I?

As far as I can tell, this is a message board of some kind, right? Someone tell me where I am!

[she recognizes that voice. there's no one in the world with a cute voice like that except...!]

...eh? Nitori?

[That's enough to reassure him!] It's really you. I'm glad.

But, um. [How to put it gently...] We're not at home right now, Takatsuki.

If it's like a message board, why not just look back through old entries and find out for yourself?

Huh...?

[there a pause while she looks down at the device on her end]

I guess I could do that, couldn't I...?

Yeah. You could.

But it's faster to ask other people, I guess.

[I HEARD YOU LIKE BEING A TRAP, so here's another trap, hanging out in his room in a very pretty kirtle and houppelande.]

Like, what's a genkan?

Oh, and you're in Wonderland.

[it automatically switches to video when Takatsuki goes to respond, so oop! have a her adorable little boyish face pop up. she is wearing fairly boyish clothes, so it's reasonable to think that Poland might assume she's a boy. And she's young enough that it might not seem weird that her voice isn't very deep, beyond how she disguises it subconsciously.]

Ah..in Japan, a genkan is an entryway where people take their shoes off before going into the home. And I know, a friend told me...

[Poland does assume she's a (biological) boy, yes. And given that his voice isn't all that deep yet, she might possibly make a similar assumption.]

You take your shoes off before you go in? Don't people like, mess up their stockings that way?

Genkan...? W-what's a 'genkan'?

[voice] guyshaveitgood August 18 2010, 22:28:09 UTC
It's the place where people take their shoes off before they go into a house, in Japan.

Really? I-I've never heard of that before.

Well, I guess it's something that people really only do in Japan and maybe a couple of other places, too. So it makes sense that a lot of people might now have heard of it...
