Well, I was going to type up an entry but my keyboard decided to go berserk, the backspace and caps lock stopped working and pressing "a" would send "asdfghjkl" repeating across the screen. SO, Chris dug out some extra keyboards from the basement and the only one that works is an IBM one from the 90's or something. lol The keys are really loud..... ( Read more... )

I had a blue saitek- I tried fixing it after damn near 3 years of use, but it just had it.

I know you're not a gamer, but since it has a NICE itunes/winamp control on it, you might like it, that and it's blue- http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-keyboards/razer-lycosa/razer-lycosa-keyboard

I love mine, but I have a defective model- sometimes keys stop working- HOWEVER they don't normally do that- most people I know that have a lycosa use theirs for YEARS longer than an avg keyboard.

I think mine lasted....almost 4 years? I'm sad to have to retire it. ;__; It was my first lighted keyboard.

That Razer is one sexy keyboard and I do frequently use Winamp.
I'm kind of a light gamer, though. The only thing I play at the moment on the computer is Perfect World, otherwise I just use mine for the usual typing activities. lol Do you think it's better if I stick with something similar or not as fancy as a Saitek? The lifespan of the keyboard has my interest too.

To be honest, I don't use 80% of the gamer features on mine, but the keys have a nonslip surface, are very quiet and have a great pressure to them- they feel great when you type- they're soft with minimal impact. I didn't think I'd get anything fancier than a saitek, but with as much as I type, a comfy keyboard is a good thing, and the razer is a comfy typing keyboard. ^^
