After "Cosi fan Tutti" last night, I feel its official - I'm not a fan of Mozart's operas. I bailed at intermission. The only reason I could sit through "The Magic Flute" was that it had puppets.

I'm a horrible philistine.

How many operas have you seen, and how many Mozart operas have you seen?

I've seen about 20 operas (a guesstimate not counting seeing some more than once - like "La Boheme") and 3 by Mozart. I liked "il re pastore" OK.

When I was in college we did the magic flute with most of the cast done with puppets. I went to UCONN and Frank Ballard, the premier puppeteer teacher in the world was in charge of the production. It was amazing. As for the rest of Mozart's Operas, I prefer Verdi.
