We were very lucky not to have had loss of human life. In total, 72 homes have been completely destroyed and another 32 damaged. They're doing their best to put in a temporary bridge where the one that was burnt out used to be so traffic can use the highway again. It will take about 6 to 12 months to build a new one.

Meanwhile, the community has rallied around and peolpe are starting to pick up the pieces and move on.
Thanks for your concern!

I'm glad I didn't have to evacuate and that the fire decided to head away. So many people have lost everything and now it's time for the community to band together and help out with the recovery.

*snugs you* I'm one of the lucky ones and so is my stepson. Their house remained undamaged but many others around them were not so lucky. Sorry I haven't emailed you lately - it's been a little, shall we say, hectic? around here. I will write an email this week to you though.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and support
