So...I was going to go through and cut this down, and make it make more sense, but I decided not to because it reflects my excitement. It was more than for the actual episode. Sorry.

86%? That's interesting math...and 13/15 without rounding the repetend.

He glanced over at her and smiled, one of those ridiculously full bodied, no holds barred kind of smiles. She immediately suspected something was amiss. That sounds like a very Lightman grin. Actually, that's an interesting parallel. Hm. They're kind of the same and kind of opposites. Foils. Fascinating. I want to go all literary analysis on this.

OH HENRI. TEARS. I HAVE TEARS. AND I DON'T CRY OVER SAPPY, BLEEDING-HEART ROMANCE.

BEING WATCHED. WON'T BE ABLE TO TALK ANYMORE. YOU DON'T MAKE IDLE THREATS OR POINTLESS REFERENCES. THIS WORRIES ME.

Foster code-switching = adorable. I want to learn French. #KWmakesmewanterrything

Daaaaang, you did some intense research. I don't think I worked that hard on some of my papers.

THAT NOTE. bbl dead. nothing to say.

It's Thanksgiving ( ... )

I was totes thinking of working this into an actual essay, but…no. No mental space. I was trying to ~analyze~ why this is such a brilliant example of awesome!fic, you know, like normal people do, and we have a couple reasons. Two stand out.

a) Gillian Foster is such a ~strong female character~ here. You can see it all the way through TLWT, but it really hit home with the conversations with Lightman and Ivana. She’s getting herself into a bit of a situation, racking up the danger points, and NO ONE KNOWS. And that’s key, because it’s totally her own action. She’s so often imperiled (both in-show and in fic) because she’s a pawn or collateral damage in someone else’s reckless plan or hunt for revenge or last-ditch hope, and here, no one even knows how terribly horrible wrong this could go except for maybe Henri, because she’s doing all of this on her own initiative, out of her ~convictions~. And also she gets to be totally awesome and competent and kriffing fantabulous doing it ( ... )

OH GOODNESS. AN ESSAY? NO SIR. THAT IS QUITE MAD.

A) WELL IT'S NOT THAT NO ONE KNOWS, IT'S JUST THAT EVERYONE ONLY KNOWS LITTLE BITS AND PIECES. LIKE A GIANT PUZZLE. AND EVENTUALLY, YOU WILL SEE WHAT I'M GOING FOR. EVENTUALLY. I CAN'T WAIT TIL YOU DO.
-- YES. CONVICTIONS. THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH. I HATE IT WHEN I EVERYTHING HAS TO BE PERSONAL. NO IT REALLY DOESN'T. SOMEONE ELSE'S ACTIONS CAN BE ABHORRENT TO YOU AND IF THEY HARM OTHER PEOPLE, WHY NOT INTERVENE? goodness gracious.

B) YES. THE RESEARCH. IT MAKE THE STORY MORE... PLAUSIBLE WHICH IS WHAT I'M GOING FOR. BECAUSE I WANT TO GIVE FOSTER A BACKSTORY THAT THE SHOW WILL NEVER BE AWESOME ENOUGH TO COME UP WITH. SAD BUT TRUE. THANK YOU FOR RECOGNIZING MY EFFORTS, FRIEND.

AND ONCE AGAIN, THANKYOUVERYMUCH.

This just keeps getting better. I love the Henri story. I'm a Foster/Lightman shipper all the way, you have me wanting her to get back with Henri! Also, I like that it's Foster who has the covert, kind-of-about the case/kind-of-about-her-past thing going on. That's usually Lightman's thing, and I think it's Foster's turn. Also, this is just so well-written. Thanks for the update.

I'm quite pleased that Henri is okay. I think it helps that he respects her and that we also have Cal being an A-hole on the show.

Ah yes... it ~is~ usually Lightman's thing, isn't it? Heh. SEE WHAT I DID THERE? We'll also see why it should ~stay~ his thing.

Thankyouverymuch :)

It's brilliant, and Foster is just so beautifully explored in this. I can't wait until everything unravels for her, with the case, with Cal and with Henri. Great stuff!

Foster is fun to explore. Essentially a blank canvas of awesome waiting for expansion. Unravel, you say? Hmmm I can't imagine what you mean ;P

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. COMMENTS MAKE ME WARM AND FUZZY.

And you're back! And you've decided on an ending. Very nice.

So, this is still awesome. I KNEW something would happen to Luc and after the part that said they enlisted, I knew he would probably die. I liked him. He's the flirty and silly best friend you could possibly have.

Oh Henri. Calling Gillian on the day of their engagement. I feel for him.

Thanksgiving at Cal's place. Wow. That's a lot of people. I like the neighbor and Cal's liking towards him just because of his shirt. Such a Cal thing to do. AND THE PIE. HE MADE HER HIS MOM'S PIE. JUST FOR HER. BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T EAT PUMPKIN PIE (WHICH IS A SHAME). OMG. DIED. Apple pie is just as awesome though. Pumpkin ice cream pie is also fantastic just fyi. ;) Anyway, I love Bobby's hug. I love the way it was quiet and came out of nowhere.

I can't wait to the rest of this! I love Foster's interrogations. And I LOL'D at this line: If he weren't so ornery, he'd probably have a direct line to God. So very true. :P

O HAI THERE. AND YES. I HAVE. WHETHER I LIKE IT OR NOT.

Still awesome? Good. Yeah, Luc was collateral damage. Sad to see him go. Also sad that it was so easy to pick up on.

Yes. Henri. I feel for him as well, because FOSTER is no longer his.

Turkey day. THANKS FOR RECOGNIZING THE SHEER MAGNITUDE. I'm not sure how many people realize this, but writing a scene with 3+ people is very difficult and something I need to improve upon. OMG APPLE PIE WITH PUMPKIN ICE CREAM IS THE BEST THING ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH. FACT.

BOBBY'S HUG REMINDED ME OF THE ONE HE GAVE LINDSAY DURING THE PROFESSOR'S TRIAL BEFORE SHE TRIED TO KISS HIM. OH BOBBY. LOVE.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE REST OF THIS EITHER. I ASSURE YOU.

THANKYOUVERYMUCH.
