    THUMBS UPPU.

HP is a good brand. It gets my approval! I'd go ahead and Google and see what's the current "BEST" processor for laptops though, if you're into that whole neurotically-checking-over-every-aspect-of-the-computer thang.

I've heard that Intel Centrino processors are generally pretty good for laptops, and apparently that's what the Intel Core Duo processors are based on, which is also the same processor that the MacBooks use, so I'm assuming that's the best?

Anyway, you totally didn't answer my question of which option I should go with between the two HP laptop variants >:O!!!

;D See you in Japan next year! <3

Hmmm I'd say no to the MacBooks first. Firstly, the price will rape your wallet clean! Secondly! They haven't really converted all their programs for the new system? So when you're running old programs, it uses Rosetta or something like that and it slows down the system a bit. I doubt its actually really significant, the slowing down. But if you get it I'll steal it from you when you're in Japan.>D!!!

    !!! Oh I forgot!

dv1000t series? Although the screen isn't as big, its lighter and the battery-life is <3. Really superficial analysis? :D()But that's what I'd go for?

:\ I keep on forgetting to say things:

THINNER IS BETTER. Really. Not only will you save space in your bag, which I assume will be spilling over with I-don't-know-what, it'll just... be thinner.

I wanted to say how it'll save space in your tiny dorm room but haha, it didn't sound too logical?

NOOO I hate HP T_T;; They suck, there's a reason they call it "HP Disease"! Oh well, if you're deadset on HP, one thing I suggest is after you buy it, go out and buy an extended life battery. Don't get the ones that you can get optional on the laptop, those never really do much. My mom got a laptop in November or December with extended life, and the battery's already going kaput. Just get the crappy battery option, and use it as a backup. Yep.

Oh yeah and I'm sure you already know this but make sure you don't just get an adapter for power (I don't know if Japan uses a different power level/socket? But if they do...) Make sure you get a voltage changer or whatever. =( When I worked at BestBuy some guy came in looking for a voltage changer because he fried his laptop in France using just an adapter. Yeah that sucked for him.

Sorry I talk too much =(
