Don't book with Morning Glory Inn, Pittsburgh!

Late February or early March, I booked a room with the Morning Glory Inn in the Southside for the night of the wedding. I thought that it might be nice on our wedding night to go to a nice Bed and Breakfast room, and perhaps gather at the Inn with out of town friends for late night chatting ( Read more... )

I've had the displeasure of interacting with them a few times. I used to go to the gym down there, and would sometimes park in front of the Inn. On several occasions, someone would come out and tell me that I couldn't park there. I was like, "Look, it's a public street. If you have some reason you need to block off parking, call the city and get a variance, or get it declared a no parking zone, or whatever, but until then, it's a public street. Sorry." I was sometimes vaguely afraid that my car would be vandalized, but it never was. Regardless, when people don't understand that street parking is a shared public resource, it's usually a decent sign that they "just don't get it," and that usually applies to more things than just parking. In this case it appears to apply to "running a business" as well.

Wow, thank you for this! I was considering this place for my wedding, but there's no way I'm dealing with that sort of crap. They are now officially crossed off my list thanks to you. Oh, and FYI, this blog was the FIRST result that came up on google for my search terms!
