*sigh* It never ends...

Had my ultrasound appointment today and have mixed emotions about the results. The babies grew in the two weeks, I just wish they were bigger still. One is 1.9 pounds, the other 2.2 pounds. I never even knew about this membrane thing for twins. Here's hoping it's there--or, if not, that there are no problems.

I never thought my first pregnancy would be such a scary experience. I don't think I want to do it again.

Certainly not any time soon! But every pregnancy is different. Unless there's an underlying problem, one difficult pregnancy doesn't necessarily mean another one.

Of course, two children is just peachy, too.

I forgot -- why is the membrane important? I know it is, but I've forgotten why.

The membrane is important because without it they are floating around in the same amniotic sac and that allows them to actually touch -- and on the downside, tangle their umblical cords together. If not caught in time, and by that I mean delivered in time, the entanglement can kill them because it cuts off their life support essentially.

Yes, we did think up names. We're going with full names, Lillian Page and Evelyn Michaela. Or Lily and Eve for short.

I can't wait to hold them in my arms, but I dread them being born too soon and seeing them in a NICU hooked up to all sorts of things! *sigh* NO happy medium at this point!
