I'm hoping to find the time and money in the forseeable future to buy a digital SLR and take a decent photography class. Your work inspires me. :)

If you get a camera, I'd recommend allocating some time to spend with it. Nothing makes you a better photographer than taking lots and lots of pictures. Of course, having a critical eye (and friends/instructors with critical eyes) helps, too. And digital is great since the cost of taking ten pictures is (roughly) the same as taking one.
