It worries me. It worries me how someone's environment can completely determine who they are.  And I'm positive it's happened to me. But I hope it's left me with more good than harm.. I mean.. despite *that* which I shall not mention. I know that isnt the right path and I know I chose it myself and that it's sinful.  But at the same time it feels ( Read more... )

All we can do is rely on what we feel God calls us to do, and how God calls us to behave.

I suppose I agree. It's just hard for me to accept some people's ideas when they seem to so basically infringe on and disturb the lives of others... especially when those groups are so sure they're right. It's like... 'women shouldn't be ministers'. Or 'don't date a black person'.

It's not so much about the opinion but the way it is expressed and impacts on the lives of others- possibly negatively- that gets me fired up. And wishing people could change.

Anyway. I've got more to write but I'll stop here.

I think some things can be right for some people and not for others... in terms of greater and lesser evils. But I think other times its just compromising the truth in favour of oneself. I wonder about that sometimes

I can't believe I didn't see this post earlier...sorry. I suppose a comment from a non-Christian is not unwelcome? I don't know whether I follow any particular religion anyway. But I want you to know that I believe there is some Higher Power, like God, but that this Higher Power has nothing to do with any relgion of the world, because relgion ought to be the invention of humans. Else why are there so many? Any why are they all imperfect in some way? If a Higher Power sent religion to the world, why do people still hate? Why is there war?

People can't always do the right thing. Sometimes they can but they don't. And other times they just don't know what the right thing is! Maybe there isn't one! But I agree that right and wrong are subjective concepts and differ between people. I can know what's right for me but not for you. Some things many people agree on, others have been controversial for centuries. I guess it comes with being imperfect and living in an imperfect world.
