Words, words, words

As much as I've prided myself, as an academic, on my ability to write both eloquently, and with a certain degree of style, I've always felt that when it comes to expressing my emotions I fall short. Well, this entry itself is lovely - you write eloquently and with so much cadence, and with the simplest words. Poetic statements of love are always hard to make. Sometimes the best I can manage is a statement like "He means everything to me." But sometimes that cliche is just fine because it is true.

I can't write poetry to save my life, though, and I love prose precisely because it doesn't have to be perfect (and because it is low, and I always seem to choose the low over the lofty - or maybe I dream of making something lofty out of something low - I don't know).
