Birds/Myspace Repost

So I thought I'd tantalize you with a myspace journal entry...

I have been afraid of birds since seeing Willow, when the giant bird snatched up precious Elora and took her to be tortured by the evil woman in the scary castle or whetever it was. There was blood and metal and rock, and it was just frightening. I'm sure there is more to why I freak out ( Read more... )

I have been afraid of birds since...

My mom is deathly afraid of birds. I think when she was little, one got in their house and freaked out on her mother. It's terrible, but we all have such fun teasing her about it.

...out of the corner of my eye I saw a shadowy figure to the side of the road...

Or maybe you're just ike me and watch too many shows like Supernatural. I'd say that in that show, there is something creepy by the roadside in every 3rd episode.

And my last area of concern involves Revlon and their Color Stay Lipstick freakazoid product.

Wow, I need to try that. Whenever I put on lipstick, it ends up smeared all over my face and my hair gets stuck to my lips. Not fun. I don't suppose it comes in cool colors like black or blue?

My main phobia is represented by the icon I used.

I LOVE Supernatural. I'm surprised they haven't done an episode on birds yet. I would much rather watch that show (and Jensen Ackles) than just about any other horror movie. The clowns one was good, I'm sure you liked that. ;O) And red was the coolest color they had at the time for lipstick. Which is still on while I'm in my jammies. I need a pair of fuzzy high heels and then I'll look just like a crazed drunken middle aged woman.

You're not the only one with the lipstick delema: http://youtube.com/watch?v=pjYuJ6DIkA4
Two warnings...the f-bomb is dropped once or twice and Pete Burns is... well...a disturbing fellow.

By the way, are you guys going to be at the comic convention in Mesa next weekend? I know that Mike enjoys comic books, but I didn't know if you guys would be attending or not.

That is me! *runs to get the oil* I'm so glad I didn't splurge on the "plumping" stuff. No, we won't be at the comic convention because Mike HAS to sell his car so he'll be at car shows until its done. Will you have a booth? Or just roaming around. We went to the Comic Con San Diego years ago and it was really fun. I'm so glad Phoenix finally has "big city" stature for stuff like this.

No, I just re-checked it and it was Maybelline Superstay. Thanks for pointing that out, I don't know why I had Revlon Colorstay in my head.

Oh Hanna, you are always more than welcome to come and visit me, with my plethora of birds... a whole houseful! They might convince you that birds are actually awesome. We have: a budgie, a cockatiel, a Quaker parrot, and will have an umbrella cockatoo within the next 4 to 6 months, as soon as she is weaned, because she's just a baby.

Yet, I am the bird lady; sparrows used to land on me when I would go to lunch at Safeway, while working at Macy's. They knew to wait for me, and ate bread out of my hands and sat on my shoulders and begged for bites of my soup.

I would love to teach everyone how wonderful birds are, but some people just don't like them. Oh well. I hope you make peace with the birds.

And about that lipstick: I did an experiment with it to see how long it would stay on if I did not take it off at night. I am pleased to say that the red lipstick stayed on my lips for 3 days. No joke.

Your birds are beautiful. And I do enjoy watching some from afar. They will peck their way into my heart, for sure.

I believe the lipstick lasted 3 days. If it wasn't for Daniel and his informative reality TV show clip and a splash of oil I'd still be wearing it.

The birds say: tweet-tweet-peep-maaaaht! (read: thank you, we think you're beautiful too!)

I really do speak the bird language. Not like that, really, but I know what each of their chirps mean, and I often can tell what any bird, parrot or wild, wants or is chirping about. One of my odd talents ;)

That lipstick is made out of the same main ingredient in house paint: A vinyl polymer. However, this is safe for skin, whereas it isn't advisable to wear housepaint as makeup! LOL!
