Ryosuke is annoyed.
He is not having a good day.
He is annoyed with the existence of flu. He is annoyed that Suzuka got the flu. He is annoyed that Yuto is whipped. And he is annoyed that Suzuka plus flu means a worried Yuto-- a stupid, worried Yuto. And said stupid, worried Yuto was caught mailing Suzuka during class and now is in detention.
And now he is left with his main annoyance: Raiya.
It was supposed to be a date, just him and Mirai. He already planned it. Today, both of them have free time. It was perfect. But no, they have to ruin it.
As Mr. and Mrs. Nakajima were out of town, Yuto was left with the responsibility of taking care of his seven years old brother. But now that the stup-Yuto is in detention, him being the boy’s best friend now held responsibility for the little devil boy.
And Chinen wasn’t available because he has a segment with Hikaru-kun today.
Ryosuke loves Raiya, really. He considers him his own brother. Taking care of him was no problem. But taking care of him during a once-in-a-blue-moon date is another thing. And he crushing on Mirai is definitely a different thing. And Mirai adoring him just does it.
This was supposed to be his and Mirai’s date! Not Mirai’s date with Raiya in which he is the chaperon and the sponsor!
Earlier, Mirai asked Raiya where he wanted to go. He said he wanted to go to Disneyland and so they were now at the bus stop.
The two was still chatting happily, while he, Ryosuke was apparently forgotten.
The bus they rode on was full so Ryosuke saved Mirai a seat.
She beamed at him, kissed his cheek and took the seat graciously.
Ryosuke was feeling better but Mirai just got to let Raiya sit on her lap.
When they got to Disneyland, Ryosuke bought three tickets for them. Mirai hugged him and thanked him. Raiya also thanked him but he wasn’t looking him straight in the eye. It was as if he is guilty of something. Well, he should know Mirai is his!
But this didn’t stop Raiya from clinging to Mirai. In fact, it seems he wants Mirai all to himself! During rides, he would sit only with Mirai, leaving Ryosuke quite alone. When Mirai went to the ladies’ room, the little boy said he wants to buy something for his brother and only came back when Mirai came out. It was as if he isn’t interested if it was just Ryosuke.
They took a break and sat on one of the benches.
“Hey, there’s an ice cream stand there. Rai-chan, you want one?” Mirai said pointing at the stand.
“Yeah! Let’s buy, Mi-chan!” the boy answered.
‘Tch, They even have pet names for each other.’
“Can we buy, Ryo-chan?” Mirai asked him.
Forcing a smile, he replied. “Sure.”
They stood up and went to the ice cream stand.
“What flavor do you want?” Ryosuke asked them.
“Strawberry!” they said together.
It would be cute, but it just infuriated Ryosuke more.
“Three strawberries,” He said to the vendor .
“I’m sorry, sir, we only have two strawberries left.”
“Oh. That’s okay, you two have them.” Mirai said.
“It’s okay, Mirai, you have mine.” Ryosuke said.
“No. You’ve been buying me stuffs since we got here. Buy yourself something for a change. I’m not really craving for an ice cream.” Mirai insisted.
“If you say so,” Ryosuke said.
“Two strawberry ice cream then,” he said to the man.
After they got their ice cream, they went back to the bench and sat.
“Mi-chan, you can have mine.” Raiya said.
Ryosuke was again, annoyed. It didn’t really disappear; it just keeps on taking a notch up. Raiya can be cute all he wants but he cannot be cute in front of Mirai!
“No, Rai-chan, that’s for you.” Mirai said.
“We can share.” Raiya said and Ryosuke’s eyes widen.
‘Say no, say no; say you’ll just share with me! That would be better!’
“Okay then.” She beamed.
And Ryosuke could see it in slow motion. He saw Raiya scooped a spoonful ice cream and fed it to Mirai. He then scooped another and fed it to himself. And another one he fed to Mirai.
‘Indirect kiss!!!! That little devil!!!!!’ Ryosuke was not annoyed anymore, he was mad.
They rode rides again but Ryosuke didn’t notice. He didn’t even felt the roller coaster and he was afraid of scream machines.
When it was getting dark, Mirai said it was time to go. They went to the train station since it would be hard to catch a bus at this hour.
“I’ll go home by myself. Ryo-chan, you just bring Rai-chan home, okay?” Mirai said when they were on the platform.
“We’ll go with you.” Ryosuke said.
“No need. You still have to bring Rai-chan home. It’s more practical this way.”
“We can just accompany you first then Nii-chan can bring me home.” Raiya said.
“I know both of you are already tired. You don’t have to worry about me.” Mirai said.
She hunkered down to Raiya.
“Thanks for coming with us today, Rai-chan. I had fun.” She said and then she kissed his cheek.
Ryosuke didn’t have time to get annoyed cause Mirai stood up and hugged him.
“Thank you for today, Ryo-chan. I had a great time.” She said and then she kissed him on his lips.
Ryosuke knew it was childish but he can’t help thinking, ‘Did you see that, Rai-chan?! She kissed me on the lips! You only got one on the cheek!’
They said goodbye and the two boys rode on their train.
They were both quiet.
Ryosuke thought that maybe Raiya was still guilty, or maybe he was sad Mirai kissed him.
But when he looked at him, he was deeply asleep.
‘Cute.’ He thought.
He knew it was silly to get jealous of Raiya but he just can’t accept any guy (even seven year olds) being that close to Mirai. He wants all Mirai’s attention directed to him, and only him. Heck, he was even a little jealous whenever Mirai pet Ku and Cookie. If he could, he’ll just marry Mirai now but he knew he couldn’t. He has to wait.
‘The laws are unfair.’
When the train arrived at the station, Raiya was still fast asleep so Ryosuke just carried him. He wasn’t heavy so Ryosuke could manage.
When he arrived in front of Nakajima home, he knocked.
Yuto opened the door. He was in a good mood.
‘So I guess Suzuka’s fine now.’
“You’re here.” Yuto said, and then noticing Raiya in Ryosuke’s arms, “He fell asleep. Such a cutie…”
He took Raiya and let Ryosuke in.
“I’m sorry you had to take care of him, Ryo-chan.” Yuto said to Ryo, settling Raiya on the couch.
“I’m sorry, too.” Ryosuke said coldly, “Why did I have to suffer because of your stupidity?”
“Ryo-chan, that was harsh. I was just worried about Suzu-chan.” Yuto said looking hurt.
Ryosuke sighed. “I’m sorry. It’s just… why didn’t you tell me Raiya had a crush on Mirai?”
“On Mirai? No. He has a crush on Misaki-chan. He actually kicked me earlier because he doesn’t want me to leave him with you. I think he’s scared of you.”
Realization dawned on Ryosuke.
“So that’s why he acted as if he didn’t want me around?” he asked.
”If he did do that, yeah, that would be the reason.” Yuto answered.
Ryosuke was relieved. But then another thought registered on his mind.
“Wait, he has a crush on Misaki?! Yuto! She’s only seven!!!!”
