jobbity job update
So a week of more hitting the ground running.
After the weekend in Cincy I headed home via Dayton, to have lunch w/ Pat and pick up my pressie from iasmin (green chinese dragon <3). We had an extended lunch at Milano's and gabbed about all sorts of things. He picked up the lunch tab (well, 'cause that's how Sir Bill rolls) too.
After lunch and during coffee at Boston Stoker, I received a call from a recruiter at Kforce, so I made an appointment for 10 a.m. Tuesday (Interview #1).
The interview went well. No real available positions yet, but the recruiter wanted to meet me in person before sending me off to any potential clients. I got home, checked the e-mail and malaechi referred me to another recruiter at TEKsystems (yes, that TEKsystems of the Faheud / Indy collective, only the Columbus branch). I scheduled that interview (#2) for 3 p.m. that day. They actually had a potential contract in the works and I'll find out more about that tomorrow.
Today I spent researching more jobs in various places. I skipped the job fair at the zoo, because the companies there didn't interest me and they didn't have jobs I wanted. I heard later that it was an hour wait just to get in the door. Bag that! I chose wisely *laugh*
Tonight I went to Barley's for a networking/startup/entrepreneur happy hour, met a few folks from various networking groups/tweetups, etc. Had an interesting conversation about a possible freelance gig, but it will depend on how much they want to pay me. We shall see.
All in all, so far so good.
