What else is kinda funny is for some reason I thought you already were a lead. I guess you just kinda exude that aura. You shouldn't have any trouble getting there :)
My general moods seemed to pick up lately as well; I blamed most of it on work (and the planned rollout of the big-brother-email-system that I think I helped get recalled), though looking at it now, it may also be the weather - we're finally winding to the end of our rainy season (woohoo!)
Yeah, going to be on one of Mike Chatfield's client teams... not sure which yet. *shrug*
Grats on canning that system. A bunch of us noticed just recently that a lot of the idiotic IT initiatives hadn't been rolled out. If they're actually recalled and you had a hand in it, then thank you very much.
no need to give up on the new idea... you should draft up a business plan. It's probably all stuff you've already thought of, but I find things are more solid, and more likely to fly, when I've written them down. it also sometimes helps me spot bugs in my logic, or solve bugs I'd already found.
I'm a little surprised too, that you wern't already a lead... you were always a leader in the Company or the Crew, in pojdm and any RP's... it's a good fit for you. If you can move laterally into a lead position in a different work area (similar to the firefighting you're doing now, but when this is done, going to another area instead of back to the one you just left) that might speed your trip to management, too. (not to mention putting you in touch with more people who might be interested in/able to help with your own program/business idea. ;) )
No worries bud. I've got em all written out. In varying locations admittedly, but definately all written.
I appreciate the vote of confidence about my becoming a lead. To be honest, a big part of why it hasn't happened, or why I haven't pushed for it, is that I wanted to just be a 'pleb' for a while. You know, let other people run the show and just do my part quietly... having done that, and having found out how unsettling it is for me to be 'part of the background noise', its time to step up and "be myself" again.

"I enjoy work now"
Magically becomes
"work had been enjoyed by myself"
So not only have I shifted the verb from present active to past perfect passive. AND I've switched the pronoun to be reflexive.
Top that! :)
