Character Claims Post 3.0!

Here's the meat of any RP - the application!

When filling out the application, try to be as detailed as possible. We want to know how you write, how well you know the character you're applying for, and also how creative you are in your interpretation. It's all right to draw from canon and "create" extra hobbies and backstories for the characters, as long as they fit in with what we DO know about them.

As a general guideline, if your entire application can fit within a single or two LJ comments, chances are you have not been detailed enough (unless you are applying as a very minor character).

Our timeline is 2019 (just after T&T/AAI), so be sure that this is reflected in the age and current status/occupation of your character.

Should be a no brainer, but please do not cut and paste information from Court Records' character bios into your application.

ABOUT YOU

[Name:] (The one you would want your fellow RPers to call you by)

[LJ Handle:]

[Contact Info:] (Email, AIM, etc)

[Which of the games have you played?]

[How much RP-ing have you done?]

[Age] You don't have to specify, but at the moment GSRP is being limited to players aged 16 and above (subject to change)

ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER

GENERAL

[Name:]

[Age:]

[Gender:]

[Marital Status:]

[Sexuality:]

[Occupation:]

[Ladder Preference:]

CONNECTIONS
In this section we want you to take as much time as possible to flesh out the relationships your character has with others in the game. It's important for us to know how you intend to interact with other characters, so please be detailed. If you're writing about a character that's already been taken and don't know if the player agrees with your interpretation, don't worry - these things are always evolving over the course of the game.

[Family:]

[Friends:]

[Enemies:]

[Other:]

CHARACTER

[General personality:] What are your characters likes and dislikes? Talents and failings? What do they spend their time on? Do they have any personality traits, goals, special interests?

[Appearance:] You only have to worry about this if your character is somehow different from what they look like in canon (like Apollo won't have his red suit at 15, etc)

[Background:] What background have you come up with for your character outside of what the games state? Feel free to be creative (within the confines of canon of course) about where they came from and what motivates them. Don't worry about going into the details of the case(s) your character was involved in: "And then case such and such happened" is enough. But, if you'd like to add some special detail about your character's feelings towards the case that isn't specified in the game, go right ahead!

SAMPLE POST

Please write a sample LJ post as the character you are applying for. The length of the sample post isn't extremely important, but do keep it in mind that we will be judging it as a part of your application; strive for something that depicts the character accurately and interestingly. If you'd like, you may use this sample post as your character's first post if you are approved.

However, don't feel like you have to make your "first post" the very first post that character has ever posted. It's all right to assume that your character has kept their LJ up to date for some time.

ONCE YOU'RE APPROVED

If the mods tell you your application has been approved, you'll then be asked to create a character journal and join the main gyakusai_rp comm with it. If you want to join the comm with your personal account as well that's fine too. The first post in your journal should be your application, under a cut (so other players can see it). Then you can make your first IC post (which can be your sample post too).

Lastly, use the friending code in the comm profile to update your FList.

Now that you've read all that, apply! See the comm profile for the current list of open characters.
