death of a family member

i'm back
and in mourning
my hardrive died
i had to get a new one
i lost all my photographs (a lot irreplaceable)
and most of my music
the tech managed to retrieve some of my music and word processing files
i have lost a huge part of my life
got computer back this afternoon and still coming to terms with all that is lost

I relate. That happened to me in Feb - 200GB of music and worse - photos, esp. the ones of baby :( :( :(

I need to burn to disc more often. Can you do that?

i got a new dvd burner with the fix up job
my old cd burner had died too hadn't been able to burn for a while
i find when i burn stuff onto cd we never listen to it really
the computer is the house stereo
but i must make a habit of putting everything on disc anyways

super duper new burner makes a cd in 3 mins
dats luxury :-)
