BREAKFAST - Oatmeal w/strawberries [245 calories] Back to basics... I love oatmeal for breakfast. And I am so proud that I killed my brown sugar habit, now it's wholesome all the way.
It all looks very healthy Jo! I don't think I have ever tried asparagus soup. Will definitely try that out because I love that vegetable so much. I don't think I have ever eaten oatmeal either. And it is so healthy. Should try that too.
You should it is so good!! Let me know if you want this specific recipe. Asparagus is so delicious!! Even better than this asparagus soup is the asparagus/fennel soup I found on a vegan site last month. OMG! Tee, it is soo good!! Oatmeal is soo good for you and so filling. It takes me about 2-3 hours before I'm hungry again. Especially if you add some form of protein to it in my case eggs. I don't know what your source of protein could be since you're vegan :) It's a texture thing that makes most people hate it but I enjoy different textures of food.
And the one with fennel sounds interesting! I am not too fond of fennel but the combination with asparagus and the fact that it is soup makes it worthwhile to try out : )
Well I haven't completely gone vegan yet. I still eat cheese. Haven't eaten eggs in a while and I hardly use milk.
Have you started reading The Kind Diet yet? Hope you like it! : )
asparagus soup has been my favorite since childhood as well (I also love tomato soup) :) it looks all quite nice, especially the last dish. by the way how do you do it then? do you only cook for yourself or for your entire family? how do you eat lunch and dinner then, together or alone ?
I love asparagus soup. Never even heard of it till I was like 24 years old :) So delish! Tomato basil is the best!! Oh even better is roasted red pepper and tomato basil soup.!! Hmmm. Don't get me started on soups lol. I also love a recent soup I was just introduce to which is aparagus/fennel soup. So good!! Even better than the asparagus soup.
The last dish was yummy :) My bro made it. I only cook for myself and my sister who wants to get rid of her gut :) I do cook for the entire family on occasion though. But no we never sit down together for anything unless it's a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal (dinner or lunch). When food is done you announce it and it sits on the stove and every man for himself ;-) I usually eat in my room while watching tv. Such a bad habit but, eh.
