what exactly are we all doing everything for? when you are born, you are taught the normal things to survive, then you are sent to school for 12 years to learn shit so you won't have the intelligence of a 5 year old when you are 17-18. but after you graduate, then what? everything was planned out for you for 18 years of your life, then you are ( Read more... )

The idea that we are all just pawns moving around a chessboard, is how I perceive life. We are born, molded then chewed up and spit out. It's a sad story if you ask me, how many can live life doing what others tell them. But as i see it (which you probably don't care) but as I see it, you make your choices you make your decisions, you choose the way you live and deal with consequences later. It's such a short life, live it to the fullest. Regardless of what others may thing, or feel.

"One should guard against preaching to young people success in the customary form as the main aim in life. The most important motive for work in school and in life is pleasure in work, pleasure in its result, and the knowledge of the value of the result to the community."

Don't play victim. Refuse to be a victim. If you're not doing well in life, it is not society's fault, and it is not your shitty friends' fault; it is your fault. I don't get the not working gig. Never have. And I'm from San Diego and have had a bunch of friends on and off that didn't have jobs. When I finished college (on scholarships), I had a 3 or 4 month wait until I left for the Army. So I got a job at Schlotzsky's, making sandwiches. It pisses me off not to have enough money to do what I want, so I make sure that I've always got some pocket money. Other than that, though, I don't stress shit. I just do what I like, pretty much. Pick a career that you want, and start working towards it. The first step is getting a job. I suggest Blockbuster Video. You get free video game and movie rentals. Once you get a job, you start saving up money and using your time to plan your jump to the next-step type job that's along the way to your ultimate goal. Rinse and repeat. Use at least a quarter of your money. Spend the rest ( ... )
