rude, or courteous?

i've always wondered: is it a courteous gesture or a rude insistance to hold the door open for someone who is kinda far away? on the one hand, you are being kind by holding the door open for them, however, on the other hand, you are pressuring them to increase their speed and hurry to the door so that you dont have to hold it open too long. puts ( Read more... )

I know, sometimes I think we go overboard on the whole door thing. But I think it must always be looked at as something polite unless you start tapping your foot. Pickle, indeed!

People who don't have migraines....maybe they kick the dog. Not that I'm advocating that.
