Wow, I am so blessed. Recently, I have been having issues of faith. Well, I wouldn't be Jenny if I wasn't having a issue of faith. But, I've made a friend here at school, who is generous and lovely, but an evangelical Christian. And I just can't keep my mouth shut. Well, he got me the other day. I was sent into this spiral of 'wow, I'm really ( Read more... )

Three things;

a) Boo-yah for continuing to fight the good fight for your faith (in your own heart). I've been having my own this past year(s) and would really enjoy more conversations re: that when you return from tea-land (which I hope is soon)... seriously, start your own denomination. It'd rock. Salisburianism. I'd join up.

b) The Yoda to your angry young Skywalker sentence made me grin from ear to ear. Seriously.

c) When he was in art college, my Dad played the character who ends up being the killer in a production of The Mousetrap. During the show she saw, my grandmother stormed out of the theatre raving "that's not my son!". This was hilarious, in hindsight. *shakes head* Hilarious.

Hope to see you soon, doll. You're the bestest.

Evangelicals always start it. From the crusades, to the inquisition to the war in Iraq. They are almost universal at fault.

speaking of my hatered for evangelicals did you get my email on the subject?

Would you believe I've never seen The Mousetrap? Clearly this situation must be rectified.

Turns out that JC and I are still in kahuts, against the strict, conservative religious right. He's totally the Yoda to my angry young skywalker.

You go, girl!

I second your friend Molly. Christianity needs more people like you who aren't afraid to question their faith or embrace different interpretations.
