Making Plans

Okay, so I haven't updated in ages, I know, but here goes. I'm finishing school now, but the biggest thing is that I'm planning 6 months in Europe! I'm looking forward to getting to know my extended family, now that my grandparents aren't around to bridge the gap ( Read more... )

Hey! That's really exciting! I'm definitely envious about your future travels in Europe =D Oh, and because I haven't talked with you in a long time, what school are you finishing up? Just curious... =)

Anyway, I have to say my favorite place in Scotland was St. Andrews, though Edinburgh and Doune castle are fun too. [Doune castle is THE castle in Quest for the Holy Grail.] I do hope that you post up little blogglings along the way, if only I can drool over foreign sights. =)

Don't worry, there'll be plenty of posting, since this will be my online travel journal for this trip. Since I'm taking my laptop (it's 6 months, after all) I should even be able to post longer messages than when I was in Ireland and hopefully include pictures. I'm not solid on where or even if I will make it up to Scotland, since I'm going on a pretty tight shoestring, but I really want to get back to Edinburgh since I only saw it for a couple of days last time, and I'll keep your suggestions in mind. :-)

As for the school I'm finishing, it's a certification program that allows me to be able to run tests in a hospital lab and get hired as a certified tech (and thus make more money). I'm not sure where I'm going to try for a job when I get back, but it's a very high demand job so I should have plenty of options. :-P

How're things going up north?

Oooo....tech money. Art's aunt is a retired tech, which I think she was very well paid, and now she travels to faraway lands at least once a year. We're jealous. =)

Things are going well up north. I'm supervising two students this summer, which makes my job harder because I can't get the stuff I need to do done before they leave. And my boss, who pushed theses students on me, keeps giving me crap about my work progress. =( Ok, so ALL is not entirely well, but I'm dealing. =) I'm still doing PhD research, whcih gets more interesting as I go along, and still doing archery. I can't remember more right now, but overall is good. =)

Have a blast on your travels!
