Yay! Sounds like you've been having an awesome time, as usual. You've intrigued me about Indonesian food and now I might have to track some down. ...Hm...there is at least one called "Julia's Indonesian Kitchen" in Seattle...looks tasty. Hey, they have something called "Risoles" which is described as a "Dutch-Indonesian breaded pancake wrap!" *reads more* Oh, that's because the Dutch had a big influence in Indonesia. Hm, maybe I'll try it next weekend... =)

And huzzah for the Master Painter! That story makes me smile.

I think it's amazing that you're tracking down your family history... Quite inspiring. =) Since you felt like you were almost living there, do you think you'll ever move to the Netherlands?

I'm so glad to hear that there are Indonesian restaurants in places I go!! Even if it is Seattle, I'm having pre-withdrawls or something here. Hans and I just had Indonesian again, because Marette went grandchild-sitting and left us to our own devices for dinner (she's usually the voice of reason saying we don't need to eat it EVERY night). :-)

And I really do think I could live here. In fact, I seriously thought about dropping in on the hospital around the corner to see what information I could find, but then I thought of my kitties. I love them both and I don't even remotely have it in me to move without them, so I have to seriously consider what moving with them means. So, basically, yes, I can totally see it, but it's most likely not going to happen on this trip. :-) Let me kow how the Indonesian restaurant turns out!
