NYTimes, the bastion of quality reporting, reported on the gang-rape of an 11 year-old girl in Texas that's led to charges against 18 high-school boys so far - all well and good so far, right? Shit like this NEEDS publicity to raise awareness.

That's the topic all over here. It happened just north of Houston, and it's gotten NO airplay at all in this city. It's got a lot of racial tones, all the (alleged) rapists were black, and the victim was hispanic. Now the 'community activists' are claiming her charges were racially based and the boys were just being boys.

Coupled with the fact that this happening in OCTOBER and the storing is just breaking now is another reason I don't trust the media.
