There are moments when I forget about the fact that I live in New York City; They are rare.

There are moments, when the fact that I live in New York City screams at me louder than the sirens blaring down 6th avenue - like when a 50 year old woman threatens to spit in my face because I'm leaning against a railing that she would like to trail her hand ( Read more... )

If I lived in New York, I'm not sure what else would happen, but I know I would spend near enough every night in your many fine poetry and jazz bars, and I would probably drink a lot more whisky.

Oh and I would be bankrupted for a second time buying all the cool street art. That is all.

Oh man, you would love spending the night with me! I just read at a poetry reading the other night in which everyone had too much Vodka and not enough vocal control. It was brilliant.

I definitely love this city but I'm ready to move back to Europe. haha.

Wow, not really sure what to say. Other then I am glad I'm not in NY right now. That is weird that a 50 something year-old would be so rude and fussy over something like that. I'm glad you are ok though. - Sissy

That's a bizarre situation... you do, though, at least get all the benefits of living in NYC to balance out the bullshit. I lived in a shitty little city in MA for 27 years, and in the last six months I was there, I was broken into/robbed five times and there were three shootings... on my street. I yearned for weird middle aged women looking for fights XD I need to get to New York again, I haven't been in ages.

Typically, I don't mind situations like that. I kind of thrive on the 'fight of flight' feeling. haha. I suppose I have been lucky (some would say unlucky) for only living in major cities all my life. haha. I had a few months were I lived in the suburbs and I didn't really know what to do with myself. I would say that at least you probably don't have to deal with the stress of it all but that all sounds pretty stressful. haha. Hopefully, you live somewhere a little more calm now.
