So... I'm not going to finish the dress in time for submission for judging. Surprisingly, I'm OK with that. I will be finishing it, but I'm going to take my time with the sleeves and get them right rather than slapping them together and not being satisfied with 'em ( Read more... )

What was so hard about sewing the channells?

Do you have a zipper foot? What kind of cording did you use?

Inqiring minds want to know why it was such a ballache - I had no problems with mine. Yes, it was tedious, but I survived it to put in 7 channells.

it wasn't hard. tedious, yes. hard, no.

yes, I can haz zipperfoot. After headache the third with the sewing machine shop, we got the right foot figured out, and it was easy sailing from there.

I'll see your 7 chanels and raise you 8 more. THAT's the dish. After a while my eyes just started to bleed, I couldn't stomach the thought of doing another one and when I tried, it took me far longer than the others. LOL I suppose I could say that I'd reached maximum cording threshold.
