It's not much, but it's *some* progress. What's taken me so long isn't the smocking. No, it's the Gluteal Inertia. Think about it, it'll come to you. ;)
So, here's step by step of what's been done so far on one sleeve:
1 - starting the smocking. It's Canadian Smocking. It's EASY. Really. Just time consuming.

Partially finished sleeve after binding down the raw edges of the panels:
(yeah, it looks a little wrinkled... it'll smooth out when it's all finished, trust me.)

(yeah, you can see the machine stitching. I'll fix that, promise.)
And the 'fix' of the machine stitching. I think it gives a nice little set to the panels. Keep in mind the tiny gold trim isn't stitched down yet. It's just laid there for effect at the moment:
Hopefully I can get the trim stitched down today. I just need to find my clear thread.
