I've been without heat. It's ugly. This person comes vouched for by a real person whom I have met in the flesh. The situation is pretty bad and the begging really is a last resort

Dear lord! I was just trading emails with her yesterday. She asked me to beta a fic for her. (Which I did quite happily and it got posted today. Whee! Go go!) I wish I'd known then. But I do know now. (And thank you for it.) I've been without heat. I have pets and a little one. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, ever. I can't afford much, but I can afford something. Thank you for letting me know she needs it. I would rather help a friend, or a friend-just-begun, than donate to an anonymous charity.
I know how she feels -- because I've been without heat for the last two years. My sister claims she'll be here in the next two weeks to fix the furnace. Meanwhile, it's 3 degrees above 0 right now.
Thank you, so much. So very much. I was able to pay for a full tank of oil this morning for them, with about $200-ish--my math is not the best on 2 hours of sleep and after doing it for 15 hours--left over.
Do you mind if I friend you? I am in awe of so many people, and would love to know them better.
I know. I was crying more than once because I came back from, like, going to the bathroom, and the amount had jumped by hundreds.
Mylia will get her heat, and the bit left over will help with medical bills. When Harrison pays the first part back, which he damn well better, I'm secretly depositing it at the oil company for future emergency; money for the actual oil bill I think is going to a charity.
But Mylia gets final say, since--it was for her. These are the ideas that have been thrown out.
There's going to be some looong talks coming up, I think, though.

Totally OT but I ADORE that icon! (It still amazes me that the episode with the funniest creature was the most tragic episode.
