OMG. I had NO idea you could do that. I am so going to Lowes. I NEED to paint my counter top immediately. What kind of paint did she use?

Don't do it quite yet! We haven't finished doing the 3rd coat and its got kind of a tacky feeling. She is going to use a clear glaze. I will let you know how it all turns out!
The black paint(which looks great!) is krylon brand, acrylic latex enamel gloss. Color is gloss black and the type of paint says "color creations"

That looks great! I'm assuming you guys are going to cover it with some sort of varnish so it won't scratch?! I'm curious to see how this holds up!

yeah, she got some kind of glaze cause EVERYTHING sticks to it. its very "tacky" without anything. now we just have to do the other counters and finish another coat. i'm anxious

oh geez good luck with that!

I may be able to help with some ideas....Mark used this crazy stuff before to lacquer one of his guitars. He put this amazing picture on it and it worked pretty well. I have seen the stuff used in bars before to put guitar pics and stuff on the tables. hmmm, I don't think I'm making sense.

It's like this stuff you mix together and pour over whatever you want and it makes it like hard as a rock.....HAH! It's not lacquer....it's epoxy (gawd I love google) http://epoxypour.com/default.aspx

Yeah, I think I know what you mean. Like at a bar it looks like there is a foot of clear shit on top of the wood. Is that epoxy?
