Went to the sheep and wool festival in NY today. It was great weather and great fun, with great friends and my babies are here! I took pictures but they are overexposed (I messed up my digital camera settings somehow) so I can't post them. The pink stroller was a big hit. Everyone who walked past me did a double take, a lot of people stopped to ( Read more... )

The bunnies really are cute. And mellow.
Heather and her stroller with bunnies was the hit of the fiber festival.
I had a great time, too.

I did not know that you had a bunny, and that you had named him or her after another mathematician. You rock.

I can't wait to see pictures of your bunnies! Congrats!

Also, we have to get together sometime and knit. I want to learn how to make Turkish socks! /selfish :)

I got my bunny Avagadro for my birthday in 1992. He was such a cutie. He only lived until fall of 1996. He was an awsome little bunny, but I didn't handle him right away so he was never a lap bunny. But he used to lie on my living room floor and watch the Mary Tyler Moore show with me when I had my apartment in Hillsboro.

I would love to get together to knit. What is your schedule like? Sundays seem to be the best as far as free time goes for me (after church of course). Wednesdays and Thursday nights are definately no good for me.

!!!! Sundays after church definitely work for me! Much better than regular week nights. I run on Thurs - Sat - Mon. and have Bible study on Tues. So Sun. really looks good. :)

Let me know if you want to come out here, or if I should go out there - and we can work out the rest in email.

Yay!!!!

I had never been there before and I was really shocked at how big it was. I can't believe you didn't bump into us. Lydia, Gwenyth and I shopped (with bunnies in strollers) and Jeffrey the Younger and Frederick took the kids to the children things. I actually didn't buy that much. I was searching for this one particular hand spindle manufacturer but I forgot the name and we weren't able to see all the vendors so I never did find him. I got a gorgeous silk cap, which I thought was mostly like a silk hanky but I can't seem to separated the layers as easily. I also got a small assortment of brightly colored wool for needle felting. I also got some lovely merino tencel in great green, blue brown blended colors. And 2 skeins each for socks of this beautiful superwash merino. And that was it! It was hard with the bunny stroller and trying to keep all together.

What did you get?

I actually was looking for the fancy drop spindles with the pretty metal trim. I couldn't remember the name of them so I had a hard time finding them on the map. I looked at it again last night and it had his location as A 35-36. I don't know how he was in two barns at once. I was really sad I didn't find him.

I saw the hose request for the plimoth plantation on the SCA spinning list. I would have volunteered except that I have only finished half of my first pair of knitted hose, and the seam is all twisted and not really fit for anyone but the Bubby to wear. Maybe if I get better at it I can knit some hose for them.

I think the other reason I didn't buy as much is because I couldn't really bring my bunny stroller in the booths with me and I worried about leaving them alone in the isle so I only looked briefly in each booth.

We were thinking about staying at a B&B next year and making a weekend out of it. I didn't realize that Sir Owain's was close, maybe we will stay there.
