So it's been a while

Okay, so it's no secret that I have the tendency to get lost in a manuscript and totally lose track of time but thanks to a gentle nudge from a friend asking Where the heck have you been, anyway? I'm checking in, saying hi, sending congrats for all the excellent news and hugs for the not-so-good news ( Read more... )

i so wish i could get a signed copy of Such a Pretty Girl... i've been so broke for so long that i haven't been able to buy any new books, and Pretty Girl is definitely at the top of the list... I still am so curious about what happens after the book is finished...
the ending still rings clear in my mind...
i won't be there, but i will be in spirit ;_;
congrats on the nomination!!

It's good to hear from you. Congratulations on the nom! Depending on what's going on Saturday, I might make it over to Lancaster at some point, so maybe will get to see you!

Love songs...I'm assuming you aren't wanting old standards like You'll Never Know and All the Things You Are and such. But even my more updated favorites are a bit dusty. I like Led Zeppelin's Thank You and UFO's Love to Love. Sigh. I am old.

Dark and ominous is a bit harder. Will ask Ned.

Thanks, Melissa. It would be so cool to see you again. God, it feels like forever. Shelley's going over with me to hang out, too.

And song-wise, I'm older than you. I'll take any suggestions anyone wants to give, for serious. You ever know what's going to spark something, so don't hold back. Dust is my best friend. You've been here, you know that. (this is cracking me up)

I love hearing about your adventures with your neighborhood animals. I can just see myself trying to feed a vulture, too; my husband in the background telling me to be careful.

As for dark and ominous songs, what sort of dark and ominous are you looking for? When I'm in a dark mood, I like Will Oldham (who also records as "Bonnie Prince Billy), especially his song "Minor Place". For drama, I like Semisonic's song "Down in Flames" (it's about someone who committed suicide). The Rolling Stone's "Paint it Black" is good, too. If you want to email me (angelajane at gmail), my hubby and I could definitely come up with more suggestions. Are you looking for something a teenager would listen to? Is the time period important, like should it be modern or are "oldies" okay?

Ooh, excellent on the song suggstions, thank you! Basically, I'm listening to everything ro see what connects on a gut level, no matter the time period because it all goes into the mental melting pot. (and god only knows what it'll come out as. :)

Thanks for the invite to briefly pick your brain. I'm going to take you up on it.

BIGTIME CONGRATS! loisszy March 28 2008, 15:52:02 UTC
Bigtime congratulations to you! You deserve it.
That book is incredible, (like its author).

I, too, have been pounding away, lost in a ms.
Deadline for first draft is April 3, so I'll be
coming up for air soon.

I miss you!

Hi Terri,

Thank you, and how's everything? Greening up slowly, I figure. Any good news yet? :)

Still waiting on the news :) On the animal front, we received our first baby squirrel yesterday, a real cutie. Daffodils, crocuses, and grape hyacinths are blooming. The season has officially begun. Hope all is. Enjoy those spring tank tops ;)
