I know it's little comfort right now, but it DOES get better. I promise. I had the same problems.

Actually, I salute you for being honest. It doesn't mean you love your son any less--but let's face it, if he weren't your own you'd find incessant screaming aand cryng from a newborn infant nervewracking to say the least, except it's in your house (your bed no less) and he needs you for literally everything and it's utterly inescapable. I don't doubt the constant stimuli would be aggravating, not to mention the drain it puts on your own time and that of your relationship. I certainly couldn't handle it, I'll admit. I think I'm too selfish and set in my ways and easily given to complete paranoia about the child's safety (as well as my own irritability).

Michael will grow out of this stage, but it truly seems like baptism through fire, this mothering thing. Hang in there, mama!

I know you are completly fried right now but I laughed so hard when I read this! I have felt the same way you have as I am sure every mother in the world has too.
It DOES get better. The first few month are always the hardest. Try and enjoy the cuddling since one day he wont cuddle and you will miss it.
Maeve still sleeps with me! She's almost 20 months. Every morning at 5 she's in bed with me.
If you need help, have someone come over and take care of him for an hour while you shower or sleep or read or go for a walk. Time for your self is very important.

I think that's all normal stuff to feel, but most people don't admit it. hang in there sweetie. He's only 1 month old, as he gets bigger his sleep will regulate.

Much love to you.
