He had felt someone's eyes on him. Glancing down in direction to the Slytherin table his gaze landed on Draco Malfoy. Dumbledore smiled and turned to McGonagall as she expressed her distress about having a class full of first years that have yet to turn a parakette into a feathered quill.
He couldn't help but half listen, a bad habit which seemed to age with years.
Both shared a glimpse that lasted only seconds, though Dumbledore knew there was more meaning and depth to Draco's need to look his way.
Draco's eyes were strong, yet timid.
The end was drawing closer and Dumblerdore, the most powerful sorcerer that lived, had no way of stopping it. Harry, unfortunately, would eventually not have his guidance to help him finish track down the last few horcruxes.
He knew that only time would tell when Mr. Malfoy should also be pushed to finish his task.
If there ever is such one, he thought.
Not thinking twice, he already knows the answer.
Or rather, he knows the task.
