Aw, sweet Mervyn! He is so cute at the end; "smiling"! He knows he has been saved and is happy to be there. Its sad he was in that condition, but he is a very lucky pony to have been rescued!

What a sweet pony! So miraculous that such a gentle, trusting personality could be saved from starvation and neglect.

I know, that's what really touched my heart---he was so gentle, trusting and loving. Very tuned in to people. He must have been well-loved and cared for, once upon a time. Or maybe not---maybe the care he received being nursed back to health did it.

I think any animal that is rescued knows it, and is capable of feeling gratitude and love because of it.
