Tuesday and Wednesday we had sleet and snow so OF COURSE I ran out of hay!! Diamond was NOT HAPPY WITH MAMA! So yesterday, I trooped through more slush and snow and cow poop than you can imagine *there were also alpacas wtf?* and got her a Big Square. My truck groaned for the weight of it.
Diamond is once again happy. Now the kids and I must tear apart 900 pounds of hay and get it to the barn! Horses! OY!
Well, you know how most squares are 40 to 100 pounds? These squares are 700 to 900!! And they're square, not rounds. Around here they call them Big Squares. I like them because I usually only need four or five to get through the winter, but I hate them because they have a tendency to mold *danger!danger* because they're so damn big! They cost about 50 dollars each. A bargain. Really.

I'm glad Diamond is once again happy!
(btw, what is a "Big Square," of hay? I've never heard of this. Tearing apart 900 lbs of hay sounds like an insurmountable task!)
