This feels very real. The leaving and the coming back and not being able to ask for what you want and the point where you stop trying to impress. Nicely done.

I'm excited that there'll be more side stories or vignettes in this verse!

*screams and flails* That floor plan is so made of awesome! And this story is incredibly endearing, with awkwardness on both sides (oh Arthur) and just seeing their relationship in this 'verse as it progresses is such a blissful treat! Thank you for this wonderful moment of theirs! *chinhands forever*

Eames stares. Arthur is Arthur, and so there's nothing betraying his nervousness except for how his jaw is working, and even that would look like anger to anyone else. But Eames has been cataloguing Arthur for some time now, and he knows nerves when he sees them.

Oh, Eames thinks. And then, almost giddy with it, he smiles.
