I finished up my Walgreens externship last night. It was only 120 hours over a month but I developed at least enough trust among the staff to make basic judgement calls to get prescriptions filled in time ( Read more... )

it appear that things are moving along... the wood factory is a temporary stop on the way to a full time phar tech position?

The wood factory is where I've been working part time while going to school. Gotta earn some full time money before the 8 hour a day externship at the hospital begins. That one lasts 6 weeks and will cut my hours at the factory down to very little.

Upp here on the river we have 2 independent, stand-alone, non-corporate pharmacies that manage to survive. I feel special.

We have a couple over here who are just squeaking by. One is across the street from a WalMart, and the independent pharmacist complains that the lowest price he can pay for drugs wholesale is more than what WalMart can charge customers retail.

He has to stock the less common medications which the chain pharmacies can't afford to stock.
