Yeah the dress is fantastic! I like the plumage too. However that isn't food my dear, that is a head. ^^;;

so why is there a head there? Is it just for kicks? Did she behead him? Maybe odd political commentary?

ummm, the artist that originally did this Albrecht Altdorfer is known for his religious paintings and images. He is actually known as the first Renaissance landscape painter. Anywho, this is an image from an old biblical story. Salome danced for king Herod so well that he would grant any request she wanted. So she asked for the head of St.John the Baptist. Thus the head on the plate. I liked this depiction of the scene b/c of her whimsical outfit. The plumage was fun to draw. :3
