It may sound cliche, but in view of the history of the world a human life is truly a vapor. Even more so in light of eternity. We are born on this Earth and we live here for such a short time in comparison to how long this planet has existed. And what is life on Earth in comparison to eternity? What does it look like to be content in all circumstances?

I'm not sure anyone really knows.
It's wishful thinking that I could understand how that feels.

It comes from Philippians chapter 4 (Bible.)

11I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

So Paul knew. And God knows. But right now, I don't know. But that's okay.

Hey Steff,

To be content in all situations is only possible when you have fully and completely given up your life to Christ. When EVERYTHING that is not Christ is counted to have no value. When Christ is the only thing that has any value to you. Only then will you find yourself content in all situations. For you will have the one thing that you find valuable and will want nothing else. We may tell ourselves that "Yes Christ is the only valueable thing," but if we are not expierencing that contentment that Paul knew then we decieve ourselves.
