So I recently discovered Jericho.  This guy at work wouldn't stop talking about it, I kept seeing references to it online and I was pretty impressed at the "Save our show" effort they put forth for a first season show, so I added it to my netflix queue

I netflixed Six Feet Under and loved it. But it's REALLY intense-- the characters look and act like real people, so it's hard to watch more than one per day. I'd also recommend the Dead Zone if you've never seen it before. I looove it. But they ended it this year-- not abruptly, but without a satisfying conclusion.
