Writing stuff!

I got an ff.net review on SLABC (Remember that one? It's almost a teenager!) - apparently, the reviewer found the fic through TV Tropes, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. It would be cool if someone had posted a (favorable) link to the fic on the site, but Google indicates that that might not be the case. Ah, well ( Read more... )

I remember loving Sounds Like a Breakfast Cereal, and that title is still one of my favorites out of all the HP fanfics out there.

For me, writing fanfic goes in waves by canon. I don't think I could actually sit down and write a piece of HP fanfiction any more, so if you get back to it, more power to you. Writing alone will be an accomplishment! Speaking from the perspective of someone who finally finished something I started four years ago, I can tell you that we are not the same writers we were then. What we write now will be markedly different from the things we wrote then. In my case I ended up changing the POV and rewriting the whole thing, even the good parts, so they match the kind of writing I do now. Don't be alarmed if you find you can't match what you did back then!

But if you do write that stuff, I'll read it!

Ooh, I hadn't thought about going back and rewriting stuff. I don't think I'll ever re-work SLABC again, but it's definitely something to consider for the other WIPs if I decide to revisit them especially since they, if ever, will be re-posted on my writing LJ (akane47 - see, even my identity changed!), ff.net, and AO3. First, though, I'll see if I can clear my writerly plate of a smaller piece or two - and I'll be sure to mention/post links here :)

If you start posting HP fanfic over there, let me know. I'll add it.

Will do! I have a Harry Potter tag there, but so far it's just links/re-posting of old stuff, and a Glee/HP crossover. For some reason, Snape and the cheerleading coach from Glee really hit it off in my head :-p
