January post!

Jan 30, 2015 22:56

It took a while due to RL stuff (that I should post about another time), but I managed to make my monthly posting deadline!

For January, in_the_blue requested the following: I want to know what's going on with Hex and Maeve and Peter. It can be a fic, or just things you've been thinking about them, or brainstorming. :)

What's going on with Hex, Maeve, and Peter? )

eeee this is so neat! I'm totally with you about Blanche and Peter's future. I think eventually they or she would do something besides be homebodies, but for a while they'd be content to be just that. :D

Also yes, Hex has to meet Tony Stark at MIT. It's now an imperative. LOL.

Last night I was getting little glimpses of Peter solving mysteries in his neighborhood (most likely with Blanche's help) :-p It seemed too similar to Hex's secret agent thing, though.

I also imagined that Peter and Blanche met in connection with Peter's comic-strip gig (since Dogstar is mostly AU in my head-canon), so maybe they'll become crusaders for improvements in wizarding society or something.

Oh god please let them be a crime fighting mystery solving duo? that would be so freakin awesome hehe!

Oh god that would be sweet, wizarding world comic convention? lol

Hee, why not? Hex and Maeve's lives can be the big action blockbuster, while Peter and Blanche's like a romantic suspense novel :-p

Wizarding world comic conventions - where everyone comes dressed like Martin the Mad Muggle! (I wonder if one was ever held at the same time as a Muggle con, and what would happen if a Muggle went to the wrong venue.)

That is about the sweetest thing. I'm so glad I asked! I know you draw a blank about Maeve, but as soon as I saw that Hex went to MIT (which I hope is the Magical Institute of Technology, at least in part? and maybe you get to it by way of secret manhole manipulation on Mass Ave :D) I saw her being the Madam Pince of MIT (but with flashier underwear). I also immediately thought how much Arthur Weasley would love Hex's wizarding electronics business, so I hope he went and visited! (You know Sirius would have loved it too...)

Peter and Blanche... awww! <3

I'm glad you asked, too ♥

I love the idea of a magical MIT. Hex went to the Muggle one, but there could totally be a think tank trying to marry magic and Muggle science and technology. Maybe that's how Hex got into Muggle!MIT in the first place, and how he got tapped by the FBMI!

Now I like the idea of Arthur asking Ron occasionally over the years about that Hufflepuff he almost arrested for misusing Muggle artifacts. They would definitely meet up later on! (And yes, I know Sirius would have loved it, too. I wish I could have had him and Hex meet up in my main canon, but at least we'll always have the Dogstar-verse!)

also, I always thought Maeve would make an excellent (read: super cool) bookseller or librarian.

Maybe she'll dabble in trading rare books. Or work at a wizarding auction house! She would know her stuff, having grown up in Malfoy Manor and all.

AND she would know if certain books were cursed, perhaps....

That would be kickass. She'd be like Bill Weasley, but without having to tromp through the dirt/sand/mud because that part would have already been done for her.

maybe at first (especially after Owen is born) Peter's comic strip is like "family circus" or something.

Might be a thing for him to explore darker themes later on tho. :)

That sounds good! I figured his strip would be really popular with kids, and then he could do some darker stuff (graphic novels?) later on, especially when his target demographic grows up.
