G.W. keeps hurting me, but I keep going back. I'm getting sick of this, but since it's pretty much impossible to find any HORDES / WARMACHINE players that aren't douchebags (since HTU died) my wargaming jones just hasn't been satisfied

Close enough to $400 for 26 models? This is perfect timing, as I've been feeling the GW itch of late. Good reminder of why I stopped in the first place. If you're anything like me, you have stacks of boxes of unopened minis that you keep meaning to paint, so give those a shot. I've also been thinking about getting Dawn of War, as I hear it's pretty good. Warhammer Online is on the horizon, as is Age of Conan. If you're dead set on wargaming, you could try a new locale. The Game Parlor down my way always has people on the tables and I imagine the one by Potomac Mills is the same.

I already have the first 3 Dawn of Wars, and DoW 4 is out soon. I think it's called "Soulstorm" and features Sisters of Battle (woot!) and Dark Eldar (meh). Added to the Space Marines, Chaos Marines, Imperial Guard, Necrons, (light) Eldar, Orks, and Tau that gives you a pretty expansive list of armies. Just don't expect the A.I. to play fair. It cheats. Big time.

Warhammer Online has been getting 90% bad feedback from beta testers (I know a lot of them) so that's out.

Game Parlor is the residence of the douchebags I mentioned earlier (not to mention buttsex- really), and Eagle and Empire is only open from noon to 6:00.

AT-43 is a blast, but Rackham is shit at distribution, so it's painful to start an army for that game. Plus E&E is the only place to game, and I'm at work during AT-43 league night.

Like I said, I've been kicked around so badly, but in the end there's only one place to turn.
