Christmas knitting post
I have completed numerous projects for giftgiving,
First is an Odessa by Grumperina.
yarn: Louisa Harding Grace-Silk & Wool. A very nice, soft, shiny 50:50 merino/silk blend in colour 07. I really like this yarn, but it is very eager to stretch out when wet for blocking, so be careful. I managed to pat it back to size before drying.
I went to my local bead store for the first time, and got some iridescent clear beads. They aren't particularly uniform in the size of their holes, as only about 60% of them fit onto the yarn when doubled through my beading needle (a cool twisty piece of wire the bead lady taught me about).
I didn't make any modifications to the pattern. I had a lot of fun with my first beading experience, and this went over very well at my work party gift exchange.
Next we have a ribbed hat made of Paton's Shetland Chunky, for a friend who is working way up north where it gets very cold. Map of Fort Mcmurray, AB CA.

I knit this flat because I couldn't find the size of circular needle I wanted at the time. I would prefer to do it in the round next time so I don't have to worry about where to move the seam from inside the hat to outside for flipping the brim.
I made a panta for my friend who is living in Germany.
yarn: Misti Alpaca Chunky in the colour Chartreuse Melange. I LOVE this yarn and this particular colour. I even bought some skeins of the worsted weight because I love it so much (and because it was %20 off at my LYS last week).
I think that the Panta is my favorite "OMG I want to make somebody I really like something really cool in a hurry" pattern.
Finally, we have the gift I am most proud of because it came from my little brain, with some help from this pattern. These were made from leftover random acrylics from my stash.
Yes, that's right.....JANE GOLF CLUB COZIES!!!! YAY!!!!
As you can see, they made my brother-in-law Andy very happy. He was allowed to open them early because I won't see him again before Christmas. He went to the golf dome that night just to show them off to the other golfers.
That's all I feel the need to subject the community to at this moment, so I will get back to making knucks and such. Have fun with holiday knitting if you do so!
