Page 11

P1 - View from the second floor, the man begins to run away. Below we see Angela yelling at him.

Angela: Freeze! Police!

P2 - view is at Angela’s level. She points her gun at the man, but he is ignoring her. He is running toward a window with a lock on it.

Angela: STOP OR I’LL SHOOT!

P3 - Mid-range view of man shooting his gun in front of him.

SFX - BANG! BANG!

P4 - View of the lock on the window getting hit and broken off.

SFX - (I’ll get back to you on that one…)

P5 - Close up of Angela firing her gun.

SFX - BANG!

P6 - View of the man jumping through the window. We see the shot of Angela’s bullet hit the frame of the window.

SFX: KRRRSHHHHH!!!!!

Page 12

P1 - On the other side of the window, we see the man jump onto a roof a building next to the warehouse.

P2 - Side view of Angela still holding her gun in the air. We see the leader at her feet trying to get away.

Angela: Dammit…

P3 - View of the Leader scared stiff in his tracks.

Angela: And where do you think you’re going?!

P4 - Over the shoulder view pf Leader looking up from the ground. Angela stands with her gun pointing at him again. She looks at him with a snide look. Behind her we see cops handcuffing criminals. One officer is taking care of the guy the man shot.

Angela: You’ve got some talking to do.

Page 13

P1 - Angela is sitting at her desk. She seems a little dazed. On her desk is a pile of paperwork in front of her, a phone, and a few pictures on her desk. One of her family, maybe one of her wedding, one of her daughter and particularly one of her and David when they were kids from the beginning of the story.

P2 - ¾ view of Angela looking a little surprised (or rather, just waking up from her daze) as a newspaper is thrown on her desk.

Connor (voice from off-panel): Congrats, Officer!

Angela: Ah-!?

P3 - Connor sits on the edge of Angela’s desk. He is dressed in a police uniform and has sandy blonde hair that is slicked back. He also has bright blue eyes and looks very friendly. He smiles as Angela looks up at him.

Angela: Oh, Connor. It’s just you... / What’s up?

Connor: Only me? I’m hurt. / Have you seen the news? Your bust made the front page! We’re one step closer to figuring out who the big Kahuna of this underground organization is and shutting them down permanently! / How do you feel?!

P4 - Side view of Angela slumping back in her chair looking exhausted. Connor looks at her with concern.

Angela: Exhausted…

Connor: You okay? You haven’t been yourself since the bust. What’s on your mind?

Angela: It’s nothing…

P5 - Mid-shot of Connor crossing his arms in pride looking smug.

Connor: Yeah right! You can’t fool a Grade A+ Police interrogator!

P6 - Angela looking down at the newspaper. Her hands are holding her head up.

Angela: You too damn good for your own sake.

Connor: (off-panel) Naturally.

Angela: Let’s just say, I thought I saw that I think I knew before…

Connor: (off-panel) Who?

Inset panel: Close up on Angela’s face. Something has caught her eye on the newspaper.

Page 14

P1 - Shot looking down over her shoulder at the newspaper. Be sure to get picture of her and her brother as kids included in the panel. Image on the newspaper is in front of the warehouse of offices taking criminals out. Angela is one of the main officers on the page. Next to the warehouse is the building the man from the bust jumped onto.

Inset panel: Close-up on the top of the neighboring building, we see the man from the bust.

Angela: That’s him!

P2 - View from the newspaper looking up at Angela and Connor looking down at the paper. Angela is looking off to the side where the pictures on her desk would be.

Connor: You know him? / I didn’t see him at the scene.

P3 - View changes to behind Angela. She is staring at the picture of her and her brother. The phone starts to ring.

SFX: BRRRRIIIINNNNNGGGGG….. BRRRRIIINNNNNNGGGGG!!!!

P4 - Close-up on the image of her and her brother. Phone is still ringing.

Angela (thought): David…?

SF:BRRRRIINNNNNGGGG…. BRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNGGGG!!!

Page 15

P1 - Angela is entranced by the photo and completely disregards the phone. Connor answers the phone for Angela.

Connor: City Police Dep- Oh hey! / Yes she’s right here. One moment please. / Hey Angie?

P2 - Connor hands the phone to Angela as he gets up to leave. Angela is brought back into reality with a bit of a “Wha..?!” expression on her face. Connor looks playful having awoken Angela from her little “daydream”.

Connor: AnnNNnnnggg…. PhooOOOoneee!!

Angela: Oh! Sorry Connor!

Connor: Take it easy, ok?

Angela: Thanks…

P3 - Close of Angela talking on the phone. She looks relieved, and smiles.

Angela: This is Officer- Oh! James! How are you, honey?

P4 - On the other side of the phone line. Angle looking down on a man, Angela’s husband, standing behind a stove cooking a dinner, probably spaghetti. He’s tall, kind of lanky, clean-cut with sandy blonde hair. Dresses nicely and wears glasses, so he looks intelligent. He looks down at his side at their daughter tugging on his pants leg holding a doll. She looks a bit like Angela when she was a child only she has her father’s hair color. You can tell Angela is blessed with a loving family.

James: Fine! Fine! Rachael and I just got home from daycare and-

Rachael: -Dadddddddddyyy! I wanna talk to mommy!

James: Hold on, Rachael wants to talk to her mommy!

P5 - Mid shot of Rachael happily talking on the phone now.

Rachael: Hello Mommy!

Angela: (voice coming from phone) Hello sweetheart, How are you?

Rachael: Goood! I drew you a picture for you today! I want to show you!
Page 16

P1 - Angela is starting to straighten things on her desk obviously planning on leaving soon. Her head tends to look in the direction of the picture of her and her brother unconsciously.

Angela: Why thank you sweetie! I’ll be home soon to see it, ok?

Rachael: (voice coming from phone) Ok!

Angela: Let me talk to daddy and I’ll be home soon. I love you!

Rachael: (from phone) I love you too, mommy! Bye! Bye!

P2 - Shot of James talking on the phone while Rachael plays with her doll.

James: She’s excited. Congratulations on making the cover story, dear.

Angela: Thanks…

James: You don’t sound too thrilled about it. Is something wrong?

P3 - Angela is putting the newspaper away in her messenger bag, she looks a little down. She rests the phone on her shoulder as she talks into it.

Angela: Everything’s fine… it’s just… / I think I saw someone I haven’t seen in a really long time.

James: (on phone) Who?

P4 - Angela holds the picture of her and her brother in her hands.

Angela: My brother…

P5 - Angela puts the picture in her bag and looks like she wants to end the phone conversation like NOW.

Angela: I know! I know! I haven’t seen him since I was 10, but… / Can we talk about this when I get home?

James: Of course! But, would you mind picking up some bread on your way home?

P6 - Angela is putting on her coat getting ready to leave.

Angela: Sure. I’ll be home soon. / I love you. Bye.

P7 - Angela waves goodbye to other officers as she leaves the building through double doors.

Angela: (thought) But I just can’t shake the feeling that something big is about to happen.

Page 17

P1 - Establishing shot of a small sidewalk grocery store. The streets are filled with people passing by. In the foreground we see the close-up from the shins down of someone wearing blue jeans and black shoes.

P2 - Medium shot of Angela standing in the checkout lane behind an elderly old woman who has slot of groceries still being scanned. The cashier is a middle-aged man. Angela is minding her own business and stares off into space.

Angela: (thought) Was that really you, David?

P3 - Close-up on Angela who is still staring off in space.

Angela: (thought) But what connection would you have to the bust? For your sake I hope that wasn’t you…

P4 - Same shot only something has caught her attention.

P5 - Shot behind Angela. She is looking outside the window. We see the figure of “David” from the night of the bust. He is obviously staring straight back at her.

Inset panel: Closer view of the man.

Angela: It’s him!

P6 - The man begins to turn and walk away. He knows he’s been seen, but doesn’t rush off yet.

Angela: Oh no you don’t! Not today!

Page 18

P1 - Angela takes her groceries starts making her way past the register and the elderly woman.

Woman: How rude!

Cashier: Hey! You gonna pay for that or am I callin’ the police?!

P2 - Angela drops money off in front of the cashier. He’s a bit stupefied.

Angela: I am the police. / Keep the change.

P3 - Angela is standing outside the grocery store and is looking to her left (reader’s right) as the man ignores her calling and rushes past people.

Angela: Wait! I just want to talk to you!

P4 - Angela starts chasing after him. They’re both weaving in and out between people. He’s further ahead than she is.

Random person: Hey watch it!

Angela: Excuse me.

Random person 2: The nerve!

Angela: Pardon me!

P5 - Angela sees him ducks into an alley. She is irritated.

Angela: (thought) Well aren’t you creative in escape routes.

Page 19

P1 - Angela makes it around the corner only to see that he’s jumped over a gated road block.

Angela: Dammit!

P2 - Angela makes it over the fence.

Angela: What’s he playing? Cat and mouse?

P3 - Angela starts running again. She pulls out her gun while doing so.

Angela: (thought) Better play it safe. Never know if he’s leading me into a trap.

P4 - She comes to a four way alley. It looks deserted and junked up. On the sides of the buildings are stairways that lead to different floors of the buildings. Angela looks confused and angered. She holds her gun close to her and looks alert.

Angela: Damn… Where did he go?!

P5 - The man sneaks up on her. He stands about 5 feet behind her. She knows he’s behind her.

Angela: Alright you, enough games.

P6 - Angela turns around and points the gun at him.

Angela: Who are you? And what were you doing at the warehouse that night? Cause if you have info I want, you better spill it.

P7 - The man, who actually IS David, stays completely still and not at all phased by her words.

David: You really shouldn’t point guns at someone unless you’re really intent on shooting them.
Page 20

P1 - Over the shoulder view of Angela still pointing the gun at David. She’s getting on her last nerves. David is smirking just a little. Taunting her as brothers do to their little sisters.

Angela: I’m an Officer, go fig. Now answer my questions.

David: If you really must know, I just happen to be in the neighborhood when I saw that deadbeat sneaking up on you playing with knives. I was just making sure you didn’t go home with a nasty splinter in your spine that night.

P2 - Angela puts the gun down in aggravation.

Angela: Stop with the jokes and get to the point.

P3 - Medium shot of David as he looks at her with seriousness.

David: The point is, Officer… you need to get yourself and your family away from here Angie… Now.

P4 - Close up on Angela, who is confused.

Angela: What…?

P5 - David turns his back on her and begins to walk away. Angela is still confused.

David: I’d go now if I were you.

P6 - Side view. Angela is looking at the ground.

Angela: Angie… / You called me Angie…

P7 - Same view only Angela is looking up and looks in dismay.

Angela: David! *gasps*

More to come soon!
