Seriously, it's a little bit much for a first bike, but not insanely so. There's a pretty good chance that you're going to drop it in some stupid-assed way that you might have been able to recover from with a smaller, lighter bike, but I assume you know that. It's not really excessively too much, so as long as you're reasonably cautious for a while you should be OK.
And now that I'm done being all adult and cynical, it sure is pretty!
